Bet you cant guess where this was taken!
I love Hougang
It's where I grew up
My dad too
He's lived in Hougang for all of his life
Hehe simply moved around from one part of Hougang to the other
i think i might too
We think it's a Teochew thing (We're Hokkien but my paternal grandma was Teochew)
Anyway, Hougang is what i call somewhat surburbia
It's a really peaceful heartlandish area comfortably tucked away from the hustle of the city and yet still not that detached (think Ponggol) from the rest of Singapore
When i get the chance to return home from school early, i sometimes chose to walk home from the mrt..
It's really nice and has a calming effect on me ^-^
There's a river behind where i live
It looks like a canal (because of the railings)
But it's a river
Sungei Serangoon
Dad took me on a walk this morning and i discovered that there's actually a nice lil trail to walk through!
And yes the pic above is Sungei Serangoon during low tide
He told me the area used to be all swampy until development came around
Looking forward to more of these walks with dad ^-^
