hehe thx matt for being such a nice guy.. oh n an early HAPPY BIRTHDAY to u! ^-^
anyway, i nd 2 announce that i finally lost my red water bottle..hehe yes..that red leaky water bottle i carried around almost everywhere..here's hw it happened..i was waiting for the shuttle and kinda got thristy but ran out of water so i went to the bubble tea place n got a cup of red milk tea..so holding the cup in my left hand and my foolscap pad in my right hand..i happily boarded the shuttle and made my merry way hm..on the bus, i packed my foolscap pad in2 my bag and realised that my right hand was supposed to be holding sth..oh ya my bottle..hehe..yea... oh and im really sorry to the uncle driving the taxi just now..it was an airhead moment i must admit..happily boarded the cab w/ haz n matt n told the cab driver: "Uncle, xian qu Dover MRT ran hou qu King Albert Park." The driver didn't seem to respond so i repeated it again. To my surprise, haz told the driver the same thing in English. i was puzzled. then i looked up at the cab driver's id and realised he was Malay. I think imbecile, moron or a simple ass could be used to describe me. I started laughing really hard at my stupidity. but i think the cab driver didnt share my sense of humour. hehe really sorry uncle... haha k shd slp nw...

?
Think twice
What you see is supposedly
What you get
And yet
There are times when radical
Seems the way to go
Alive, it makes you feel
But no
Society says no
No room for shock
It more often than not rejects
Those who thread a different path
Oh well
Suppression has worked since ancient times
What's eternity?

Pt III of Behind Two Pairs of EyesZachary
It was unusually noisy for a Monday morning. Half the time people would be dragging their feet to class yawning but today people were gossiping along the corridors and oohs and aahs echoed throughout the corridor and saw a huge crowd at the other end.
"Must be a new teacher or something", Zachary said to himself as he walked into class.
"Hey Zach! Have you seen them?" His basketball mate Marc asked they high-fived each other.
"What?"
"Those posters plastered all around school man!"
"What posters?"
"Dude, you should go check it out! It's damn cool!"
Curiously, Zachary walked to where the commotion was and read the poster out loud.
"My deepest apologies go out to the boy whose watch I ruined last Friday. I feel guilty for doing so and hope to make up to you. However in all the confusion I never got your name. Therefore, if you do see this message please call the following number. Thank You."
Zachary blinked. He turned to look at the watch on his hand, which still read Friday, 20 Mar 3.56pm. After a moment of consideration, he stuffed it in his pocket and returned to class.
"Zach! Have you heard! Brando actually called the number! And the guy on the other line said that they were willing to return a watch of any make and model! You could even ask for a FREAKING ROLEX!" Marc’s eyes widened as he related the story.
"It’s probably just a scam Marc."
"No it ain’t! The people were even willing and ready to set a meeting time and place and didn’t even mind us calling the cops if we wanted to! But too bad Brando didn’t know how the watch got spoilt. The whole team would be getting fine dining for the rest of the season if we sold off a Rolex!"
Their conversation was cut short by the appearance of the principal in their classroom.
"Sorry to interrupt the lesson but I need to speak with Zachary urgently."
Zachary followed the principal into his office and wondered what he had done this time. The last time he was here was because he had won the international science quiz and the principal wanted to personally congratulate him but by the look on his face now, things didn’t seem very positive.
"Sir, did I do something wro–"
"No no, of course not." There was an awkward moment of silence.
"Zachary, I don’t know how to tell you this in a more appropriate manner. I’m really sorry to have to tell you this, but your mother was involved in an accident about an hour ago with an eighteen-wheeler. Apparently, the driver was drunk. She’s in very critical condition at the moment. Your brother is already on his way here to pick you up. I’m so sorry."
Zachary didn’t say anything. He didn’t cry, he didn’t scream, he didn’t do anything. Even when his brother arrived, he remained silent.
At the hospital, Zachary’s brother Danny curse swore and banged his fists against the wall. He could only watch on helplessly as doctors and nurses wheeled his mother into the emergency room. Zachary on the other hand remained still, his eyes fixated on some distant thought.
After what seemed like an eternity, the doctors came out of the emergency room. Zachary couldn’t read their faces.
"Miraculously, your mother survived the operation. I am positive that she will pull through, but her condition in the next 24 hours will ultimately determine her life and death. However, I am sorry to say that if your mother survives she will be paralysed from the waist down. I afraid I have to tell you that this paralysis may be permanent so you need to make plans to give her utmost care in future."
The doctor walked away and the corridor was now filled with what seemed like interminable silence.
Finally Zachary spoke. "Hey bro, don’t worry about everything okay? When mum gets better, I’ll definitely see us through."

Behind Two Pairs of EyesJane"Ouch!" Jane mumbled as she rubbed the bruise on her forehead.
"Where are my gla–"
Her train of thought was interrupted by the crack of something beneath her feet.
She sighed. What else could she do? Stuff like that happened to her all the time anyway, being just another face in the crowd.
Stick thin and wearing thick glasses, Jane never quite fit in anywhere. In fact, almost nobody in school knows her. Her family being constantly on the move added to her inadequacy in numerous social situations to the extent that she simply fades into the background. Used to being home schooled due to their nomadic lifestyle, her parents decided that it would be best to settle down in a small town for a few years at least, to allow Jane to study with children her age in a public school setting. But little did they know that their daughter hates it there and the only reason she’s seeing it through is so as not to disappoint them.
There he was. He was supposed to pick Jane up at the street corner a short walk away from school but after half an hour of waiting Jacques didn't show up and neither did he pick up his mobile phone. Panicking Jane ran back in the school’s direction to see if Jacques had gone to pick her from school instead causing her to collide with that insolent fellow. In actual fact, he parked the car around the bend, as there had been a large truck parked at the street corner and he fell asleep while waiting!
But Jane wasn't angry. Just annoyed, with Jacques, with her parents and mostly with her life. She peered out of the car window and saw a group of girls from her school, chatting and laughing whilst walking in the direction of the mall. Yet she was on her way home, preparing to attend some stuffy dinner and amuse some old fogies with a tune or two on her violin.
Her mother would always say, "Jane darling, this is for your own good." But she never saw the purpose of the endless golf games at the country club, or the regular high tea sessions at the hotel. Half the time she just sat there, smiled, and answered questions that she already knew by heart what the answers had to be.
Everyone thinks someone of her financial background would have no difficulty in making friends. But Jane being an introvert by nature, found it difficult to even talk to people when her parents or Jacques was not around, much less make friends. She didn't want to make friends on the basis of money either
Thinking about the boy she bumped into just now, she felt guilty about spoiling his watch. By the look on his face, it probably meant a lot to him.
"Jacques, make a stop at Uncle Wan's. I'd like to buy a watch. Maybe a new life while I’m at it."

Haha kz..not really feeling a poetic vibe..so being inspired by Faridah's stories i decided to write this..not exactly anything new la..storyline pretty much predictable but it's my 1st attempt at writing something since prelims last yr so don't flame that badly even if it really sucks..hehe yup but constructive criticism is welcomed..
Behind Two Pairs of EyesZacharyThe last bell for the day rang and students flooded out of their classes. Zachary closed his locker and heaved a sigh of relief. Slinging his backpack over the shoulder, he declined various invitations for movies and dinner.
Walking out of school, a couple of juniors saw him and giggled, flashing him mega-watt smiles. But he wasn’t the least moved. He simply looked at his weather-beaten watch and quickened his pace
Zachary was by all means one of the most sought after guy in the school. Some compared him to a Greek god, with chiselled features and brooding eyes that just see through you. Girls fantasise about playing with his tousled mahogany hair, which always seems to fall into place regardless of time and place. And there was even a story going around about how though he seldom smiles, when he does the room he's in just lights up. Captain of the basketball team and a straight A student, Zachary couldn't be more perfect. But time after time, even advances from the even belles of the school were rejected. Some people doubted the nature of his sexuality but others, especially the female population in school, were even more attracted to him due to his nonchalance. He had become an enigma that girls wanted to solve so much. Though fully aware of all that, he didn't care.
Feeling drowsy, he paid no attention to the girl who was running at top speed in his direction.
"BAM!"
The collision jolted Zachary from his semi-comatose state.
"What the –"
On seeing a pair of the most soulful eyes, he froze and stopped himself from exploding in expletives. Glancing at his watch, which was now broken, he swore under his breath and muttered a meagre apology before running off.
Moments later, Zachary entered a dilapidated apartment. Zachary realised that the dripping sound of water had grown over the past few days and that something had to be done about it. Same goes for the bad condition of the walls. But that had to wait till tomorrow.
He made mental notes to pick up the groceries for his mother and a cup of coffee before heading off for the graveyard shift at the convenience store, then he slumped on the mattress, pleased that he would have it to himself for a couple of hours until his brother gets back from work at the café.
Zachary thought about the owner of the pair of soulful eyes and wondered if he would ever see her again. But even that had to wait. He closed his weary eyes and smiled to himself thinking, "Yup, leaky plumbing and peeling wallpaper, that's just home" before drifting off into a deep slumber.
