haha pei said something quite sometime ago about this so here's food for thought (hehe no pun intended)
buffet or ala carte
which do you prefer?
buffets seem more fun somehow, the idea that you're given choice, that you can pick whatever you want. if you like it, take some more, if you don't, just stop. but it also seems as though there is not much QC in the process. you don't necessarily love what you're eating (with sushi buffets being an exception) that much and sometimes you overeat just to make the whole idea of a buffet 'worthwhile'. i mean what's the point of going for a buffet where you only pick one dish right.. might as order ala carte then..
but then that's the thing about ordering ala carte dishes. the dish maybe something you've always like, like spaghetti bolognaise. but different places cook the same dish differently. what do you do when midway through the meal you realise that it really sucks yet you don't wanna waste the food, but it becomes a tad too torturous to finish?
haha ah well, tis life isn't it?
