Education is deemed to be the solution to most, if not all our problems. It is also known to be the best medium for people to become socially and economically mobile. That's true too. However, it still cant be denied that there IS a distinct corelation between family income and a child's grades. Doing a survey of sorts for the kids, students in the better classes tend to be more affluent than those in classes at the other end of the spectrum. In fact, when i asked the question i had to, kids from the better classes giggled and looked quite surprised that i asked what seemed like a strange and perhaps ludicris question, not knowing that a few doors down possibly 1/4 of the class would not have the 'commodity' they seem to be so used to. Teachers refrain from explicitly stating that due to the nature of the class (being the best), certain things which may seem to be luxury goods to many others are actually necessities to them. But one thing good for sure is that the survey is done to help possibly level the playing field for some of these kids, to give them a chance to learn as equals.
