how many years has it been
since the star fell out of the sky
and landed in a faraway land
with it it took away the warmth
the brightness and vitality
and the life that once was
one can only settle for the moon
cold, hard and unfeeling
it's everchanging nature hard to grasp
but it acts as a shield from the darkness
a consolation for the great loss
false happiness is better than none
how many years has it been
since the star fell out of the sky
and landed in a faraway land
