time has passed
and you cant help but wonder
have things changed
or are they still the same?
sometimes it seems as though change did not occur
that nothing happened
that the wind just blew past
and all was right
then sometimes i see all that has changed
and that when the wind blew past
it brought along a chill
that covered everything in a wall of ice
though thin, you can see it's there.
has this mysterious medicine of time worked,
or does it just cure the symptoms?
i wish i knew.
perhaps it's a pathetic attempt
to reconcile knowing with security
that you can't have one
without giving up the other
so you live in this limbo world
of guessing and hypothetical questions
so that you can pretend to know
but have the security of not knowing.
time has passed
and you can't help but wonder
